The filing for running for various offices opens June 1st and runs through June 7th. There will be an opening in the mayors office and 2 city council seats available.   Districts 2 and 3 are up for election. here is a link to a map of the districts. Herriman city council districts map   If you live in either of those districts you are eligible to run for office for those seats.   Anyone in the city can run for mayor which is at large, meaning the entire city votes on this office.  The city recorder handles the filing for the candidates.  Here is a link to the filing form. Declaration of candidacy form  I would urge anyone thinking of running to file.  I would also urge you to file early and not wait until the last possible minute to file.  It likely cost me the election doing that.  Its ok the right guy won in the end!  You can always withdraw your candidacy right after the filing period is up.   I am also willing to help anyone that is thinking of running or deciding to run.  If you have any thoughts of this I will share everything I know about my experience and help any way I can.  The fact is often things develop and happen when running for this.  People may come and support you that you never thought possible.  What I am saying is the path to winning may not be clear when you file but may become clear once your in the process.  This is an exciting time.  I plan on visiting with everyone that decides to run for these seats.   I want to do a Q&A that is posted publicly, the candidates will not get to see how others answered.  It will give us great insights into their plans.  Lets have an election shootout and the best candidate wins!!!!
